Tim Robertson is the founder of this company. Here we focus on the history and how Robertson Wine Tours (RWT) came about:
Tim was introduced to fine wines in 1988 when he worked for Sakagura Wine and Liquor, part of the Intercontinental Group in Hong Kong. Tim was responsible for selling their collection of the Bordeaux and Burgundy and new world wines, arguably the best collection in Asia at that time. After completing his studies in Economics and Business he embarked on a career in investment banking (Fidelity Investments, Schroder’s and Credit Suisse First Boston). He left finance to inaugurate Robertson Wine Tours in 2002.
Over the Years RWT have worked closely with Lufthansa, Jetsetter and Secret Escapes on group tours and promotions. Frommer’s, Lonely Planet, TimeOut, Bradt guides, Condé Nast Travel, LAN have all written favourably about RWT. Business is predominantly conducted on referrals and reputation.
