FOCUS

We specialize in giving our clients the very best in everything we do. With this 12 night immersion we are able to offer the very best of Chile & Argentina, focusing on the best wines of both countries, enjoying excellent lodging and exploring the territory with interesting expert guides. The pace is not going to be hectic and we hope this tour hits all the right notes for you all.

We see no point in changes hotels 3 times in Chile so have opted for a further night in Santiago and Colchaugha Valley at Noi Blend.

We are showing you a few more options on lodges as some are indeed small.

In case when we come to book availability is an issue. In Santiago if Singular is not possible then Aubrey is great. In Mendoza Al Pasion is also great option, In Buenos Aires, If Legado Mitico is not available we would choose Fierro then Bobo.

In Chile we have added in a truly world class day at VIK, Spa lunch and visit and In Argentina we have two options for spa days at two exclusive wine resorts, your choice, Entre Cielos or Cavas Wine lodge, both Brilliant.

Finishing up in Buenos Aires tops it all off with some light-hearted tango and an overview of this fascinating city we love. Enjoy, relax and know you are in the best hands.

You might like to know we received  this testimonial from the clients who made this original tour in March 2016.

‘Well Tim, you did it again. We thought our experience two years ago in Sicily with Robertson Wine Tours was beyond description. That was true. Now, however, we can say that our Robertson Wine Tours experience in Chile and Argentina is again beyond description. We toured 22 wineries, in 13 days,in two countries experiencing incredible accommodations, unbelievable scenery, phenomenal food, and obviously incredible wines. We began our tour in Santiago Chile followed by our food and wine experience in Aconcagua Valley, Maipo Valley, Cachapoal Valley, Millahue Valley, and  Colchagua Valley in Chile. Our guide , was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining. Then on to Argentina. Macarena, our guide in Mendoza, was charming and extremely knowledgeable. Touring Lujan de Cuyo and Uco Valley wineries allowed us to discover and increase our knowledge of Argentine wines tremendously. Finally, our experience in Buenos Aires can only be summed up by ” phenomenal”. Mariana allowed us to discover the essence of Buenos Aires. Our final night with a private tango lesson and then a tour of the late-night tango clubs was indescribable. We cannot thank you enough and  cannot wait to plan our next trip with Robertson Wine Tours.’

Santiago de Chile – The Singular Lastarria

The Singular Lastarria is sister hotel to the Singular Patagonia. Sharing the same ethos of individual style, top service and excellent food as the original, the Singular Lastarria also comes with a prime urban location in one of the historic and most village-like neighbourhoods of Santiago. Enrique Concha, one of the top local interior designers, has created interiors that feel timeless and elegant mixing limited edition prints, handcrafted furniture and polished parquet floors. The rooms are larger than average, most of which have a small balcony and integrated sitting area. The sultry lobby bar and library has the feel of a private members club with its brass angle-poise lamps, studded leather armchairs and marble bar. The Singular Lastarria also boasts an indulgent subterranean SPA with four treatment rooms, jacuzzis, saunas and steam rooms. We love it.

Santiago de Chile – The Aubrey

The Aubrey opened its doors in March 2010 for those seeking for a stylish and design-driven boutique hotel with personalized service and direct access to some of best attractions of Santiago de Chile. The location is the colourful neighbourhood of Bellavista, just steps away from many interesting restaurants and cultural activities. The Aubrey is a restored 1927 mansion that pays homage to the Bellavista’s storied past, while dazzling with modern aesthetic. The fifteen light and airy rooms are individually sized and decorated, featuring dark wood, copper lamps, polished parquet floors and geometrically patterned linens.

Chile Wine Valleys – Colchagua Valley – Noi Blend

We have worked with Noi Hotels all over Chile for many years and it has been a pleasure. This property has opened late in 2014 in a region where we desperately needed some new room inventory under 1,000 USD a night. With just thirteen rooms and situated outside of Santa Cruz, this is a stylish take on a typical rustic estancia of Chile. Noi Blend is intimate and relaxed. We like the rooms’ clean lines and mix of wood and brick complimented by some quickly style elements. Breakfast is a delight and the pool and grounds are a wonderful place to enjoy a wine prior to dinner.

Mendoza City – Park Hyatt

Park Hyatt, with its beautifully restored 19th-century colonial building, without doubt is one of the most prestigious hotels in Mendoza. Apart from all the facilities you would expect from a five stare lodge, it enjoys the best position imaginable sitting on the western side of the most important square in Mendoza: Plaza de la Independencia. The amenities include a fully equipped SPA and gymnasium, an outdoor pool and a garden sun deck. There are plenty of bars and two restaurants to enjoy, as well as a deck overlooking the square.

Uco Valley – Finca La Azul Guest House

Shirley & Pablo’s house: this could be the alternative name of Finca La Azul. They are who bring this all to life and make it the most intimate stay on this side of the Andes. A beautiful design lead home that they cleverly built to include some extra rooms for their guests: we hope you will be among them. Endless 360 degree vineyards views with the Andes ever present. The rooms are extremely large and light filled, all enjoying their own terraces. The style is typical of Argentine Pampa with exposed walls, wall to ceiling glass giving a rustic yet clean effect. There is also a huge garden to enjoy with a swimming pool and a parrilla, where the BBQ meats work their magic. Paul & Shirley are avid about food/wine and super cooks. This stay will be intimate and relaxing. Highly Recommended. Availability is an issue.

Uco Valley – Al Pasion Wine Lodge

Al Pasion Wine Lodge is located in Uco Valley, just one hour and a half away from the centre of Mendoza. We are so pleased to be able to offer something else in this region, as the Uco Valley has a very scant offering of lodges that we like to use. With La Azul & Al Pasion, we are happily covered again. The lodge consists of five luxurious rooms with private terrace and each room is based on one of the elements: metal, wood, earth, air, water and fire. They have a wine cellar, where you can taste excellent wines from the region and  wines from the winery of this lodge. Add in an infinity pool with a jacuzzi and never ending vistas. This really is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The lodge offers a half-board option, which is perfect, as there are very few places we can take you at night close by.

Buenos Aires – Legado Mítico

A most sophisticated boutique hotel in fashionable district of Palermo: elegant in style and with excellent service. This townhouse has a restrained façade, but from the moment the smiling staff open the door you will feel welcome. An intimate lobby opens into a spacious bar and lounge, beautifully designed to combine classic and modern in equal measure, and all very Argentine. Leather chesterfields and Mies van der Rohe chairs are given a gaucho twist. Chic cushions in indigenous textiles also sit on minimalist sofas. There is no restaurant here, but breakfast is served and there is an astonishing choice of places to eat on your doorstep. This elegant retreat feels like a smart private club and it is without a doubt our choice in Buenos Aires. We have a great relationship with them and they so do care about our clients.

Buenos Aires – Fierro

Fierro is located in one of our favourite residential zones of Palermo. The rooms are chic, modern and well thought out. We like it as the owners are all about wine and have a venture in Uco Valley of Mendoza. The restaurant has a great name in Buenos Aires and we do think the management is strong. The area is perfect for someone to live like a local and not a tourist. We feel the property rewards the younger at heart and the design reflects that. The area of Palermo it is in is relaxed, residential but with great bars and restaurants just blocks away.

Tour Outline & Guiding – Argentina & Chile – 12 Nights

GUIDING

Gonzalo (Chile)

Gonzalo has an international business degree and has been related to the wine industry for more than seven years now. He has also taken some wine courses (WSET 1 & 2, Sommelier School Level 2). After becoming a sommelier, he got a contract working on-board of the Seabourn Sojourn as a sommelier where he had the chance to learn more about international grape varietals and sharing experiences with wine lovers. Ten years ago, he went to travel as a backpacker to Australia & New Zealand, where he always tried to find jobs related to the wine industry (cellar hand, seasonal vineyard worker). He also took an exchange program in the States for two winter seasons to learn and improve his language skills in English. In Chile, he worked as a tour guide for three years at Clos Apalta/Lapostolle Winery and now he works as freelance tour guide among other personal projects. Currently, he studies winemaking at the University of Talca in Santa Cruz besides French as a hobby. Wine is his passion and he loves sharing this with people from all over the world. Now the Chilean wines are not boring anymore, there is so many interesting musts to taste and to experience that he feels part of it and ready to share it with you.

Macarena (Mendoza/Argentina)

Macarena is a certified translator in English/Spanish and has experience in the world of wine. Her passion for wine began years ago, when she worked as a tour guide at Vistalba Winery, where she carried out bilingual wine tastings and worked as an interpreter in commercial meetings. She was also in charge of La Posada Wine Lodge and of wine sales at the winery. Moreover, she lived three years in the United States and spent a year in Buenos Aires. Today, she works as a wine tour guide and as a freelance translator. She really enjoys her job as she can include in her life her three passions: wine, nature and language. She believes the wine, the traditional food and the Andes Mountain Range of Mendoza are a perfect combination, which she enjoys sharing with anyone who visits the province. Her goal as a wine tour guide is not only to transmit the enthusiasm and excitement people from Mendoza live in the cradle of Malbec, but also to make visitors live an experience they will never forget.

Mariana (Buenos Aires/Argentina)

Mariana is a real porteña. She is fluent in English and in Spanish with already many years of experience in tourism. She is just the perfect guide, as she can read people very well and knows exactly how to get into the skin of Buenos Aires in the time you have available. You will have with Mariana a very intense and fascinating understanding of this cosmopolitan capital, without forgetting that she is also a great tango dancer.
